Singapore's National Day! Happy birthday Singapore! 

From start till the end.

So... A friend asked what happened to the paper figure from this old post, an instillation piece I did earlier this year. I thought I should do a post about the instillation piece. I don't have much photos, but here we go!

News paper birds, covered up with old animation papers and  wall paper paste. I used corrugated card board for the wings.

Same process as above.

In exchange for a deer's head, I requested some friends to help fold hundreds of mini paper cranes, and they helped me further with the installation of the cranes. :')

After hours of trial and error, the instillation was finally up! It was quite a joy to walk around the hanging paper cranes.

Cameo of someone's butt and other student's works.

After six months of spooking people, collecting dust and threats from the father lord to charge rent for taking up space, paper figure finally hit the bin. :(

The birds live on, in a store at far east shopping center. :)

Experiments and explorations.

This one was re-sketched and carefully inked.

And so, I have found something to draw that fills the sketchbook.  Great brain busting activity.

The results that you get at the end is rather fascinating. The aim  was to  practice depth and careful planning. Yup,  just inks.

I've been drawing wolves lately.

Late for work no more. This thing eats cars too.

Yeah... apologies for the total lack of updates. I was working on a project and finding a job recently. (I got a job! yay!) Wow, it's been six months since this blog was set up. I think I am getting more efficient with working directly in photoshop! I have made some progress. Woo~ Things are slowly settling in place, and I hope to work on old projects! Until the next post! :D

While I was gone.

Sorry for the lack of updates, stuff happened over the last one and the half months. Although I was gone, I did manage to do some stuff! Greyscale tonal sketches for that matter (I suck at colours). Here are some choice picks. Hooray!

And Suddenly...

Birds! Lots of them! An art installation piece for school. It was fun not working in front of the computer. This piece took three weeks to complete, with the help of friends who folded paper cranes.

I call this the laser bird! Not because it shoots laser from its eye, but it makes annoying "pew pew" sounds.

Infected Mushroom!

Hey there! I'd like to share with you guys that on November, I managed to ambush Erez Eisen of Infected Mushroom outside Zouk to give him this infected mushroom I drew! And the next day, I saw the print posted on the Infected Mushroom facebook! It made me hop around, giggling like a nutjob. Such a great honor to be able to give back to your favourite artists! Thanks Erez, that really made my 2010.  (Meant to post this weeks ago but I was literally drowning with assignments.)

Things from school.

Oh yes, I haven't mention that I am still in school. Well, I am finishing my final semester in an animation program. So, this post is dedicated to exercises that I have done from a matte painting module. They were done somewhere between late October to early November.

For the first lesson, we were told to paint over  a doodle  done by a lecturer's son within 2 hours.

Here's the result. My brain felt numb after that two hours as  I haven't painted digitally in months. I like the result!
